Achim Schalk joined the Management Board of Gerresheimer AG in November 2025. He is responsible for the Primary Packaging Plastics, Medical Systems and Advanced Technologies business units.

The experienced industry manager has many years of international management experience in specialized industrial sectors. Prior to his appointment to the Gerresheimer Management Board, he was President & General Manager for the EMEIA and APAC regions at Magnera Inc., a leading specialty materials and nonwovens manufacturer that was formed in November 2024 from the merger of the Health, Hygiene and Specialties division of Berry Global Inc. with Glatfelter Inc.

Achim Schalk had already held various positions in purchasing, sales, product development, and operations at companies within the Berry Global Group since 2010. In 2020, he took on responsibility for the Europe region as Executive Vice President and General Manager, and in 2022 he also assumed responsibility for the Asia region.

He began his career in 1999 at automotive supplier Kolbenschmidt Pierburg in the Controlling department. Most recently, he was General Manager Controlling there before joining Berry Global in 2010.

Achim Schalk studied business administration and corporate management at the University of Hohenheim, specializing in controlling, accounting & finance, and industrial management. He graduated with a degree in economics.
