Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:      

 

Under the direction of Electronics Coordinator and/or Plant Supervision, depending on shift and current situation, performs a variety of all-around manufacturing and facilities electric repairs to production equipment and facility services to ensure optimum production and quality.   This position also supports manufacturing by maintaining production equipment on both the hot and cold ends, troubleshoots equipment to determine if repair/replacement is necessary, and makes recommendations accordingly.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs general maintenance and repairs of production equipment and facilities
  • Troubleshoots and repairs breakdowns and equipment failures
  • Responsible for performing machine line inspections to identify potential problems prior to breakdowns
  • Performs major machine repairs and Preventative Maintenance on production equipment
  • Performs verification and calibration of automatic gauging equipment
  • Performs job setup and changeovers on all forming machine, afterforming handling and gauging hardware, vision systems, automatic packing and packaging equipment
  • Communicates with incoming/outgoing maintenance personnel and shift supervisors for repair work priorities and schedules
  • Maintains all logs required by Maintenance personnel
  • Manages multiple continuous improvement projects
  • Assists setting up new equipment, ensures its satisfactory operation and instructs others to use the new equipment process properly
  • Documents new and existing processes in the plant
  • Observes all safety rules and regulations and performs job in a safe manner.

·         Maintains acceptable standards of housekeeping

·         Wears proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

·         Demonstrates behavior that meets Gerresheimer Management System (GMS) Standards

·         Prints legibly on all paperwork

·         Performs other duties when required or requested

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:

·         Associate’s degree or equivalent from technical school or

·         1 to 3 years related experience and/or training preferable in a mfg environment or

·         Equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Prior proven mechanical experience, work history or on-the-job training

·         Understanding of 24VDC, 24VAC, 110VAC and 480VAC 3-Phase circuits

·         Knowledge of automatic gauging equipment including verification and calibration

·         Ability to perform support including Assembly, Drill, tap & punch holes and programming/downloading files for PLC

·         Knowledge of vision systems, automatic packing and packaging equipment

·         Essential Computer skills

·         Ability to read and write English

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

 

·         Company issued forklift, pallet jack and scissor lift certification
