Head of Production Unit

Job Description

Management and control of a production area (production unit) to achieve the specifications (sales, earnings, inventories, rejects, personnel costs, quality, etc.) with constant further development of all influencing factors (personnel, processes...)

  1. Ensuring the onboarding, assessment and further development of employees by the subordinate managers
  2. Long-term planning in terms of personnel, machine capacity, processes, etc. (e.g. OPSP, CAPEX)
  3. Independently ensuring effective customer communication
  4. Proactive cooperation with internal and external interfaces (e.g. plant management, quality, HR, customers) and sister departments and plants
  5. Planning and optimizing investments for production expansion and optimization independently
  6. Ensuring up-to-date and audit-compliant production documentation
  7. Responsible for continuous improvement (technology and organization of work) and coordination of GMS activities
  8. Cost center responsibility
  9. KPI responsibility and ensuring reporting

Relevant KPI:

  • Daily performance / performance reporting (OEE)
  • Sales volume
  • Rejects/ good parts
  • Complaints
  • Order change / time expenditure
  • Personnel deployment (Manning)
  • Occupational safety
  • 5 S audits

Qualifications

  1. Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and/or 7+ years in experience in a comparable position with personnel and budget in a manufacturing environment
  2. Expert knowledge of managing and controlling a production area, including budget, cost and personnel responsibility
  3. Expert knowledge in personnel management and qualification
  4. Expert knowledge in the areas of resource and operational planning
  5. Good knowledge of production processes
  6. Good user knowledge in the field of (production) indicator systems
  7. Good written and spoken English knowledge
  8. Good IT user knowledge (e.g. MES / SAP, MS Office)
  9. Very high leadership motivation
  10. Very high performance and organizational motivation
  11. Very high action orientation, conscientiousness and flexibility
  12. Strong sociability and team orientation
  13. Very high emotional stability, resilience and self-confidence
  14. Performance management (KPI, performance/goal control)
